La chemioterapia pre-operatoria è uno standard nel tumore della vescica, in quanto comporta un miglioramento della sopravvivenza. La prognosi migliora non solo quando il trattamento provoca la risposta patologica completa, ma anche quando le dimensioni del tumore si riducono.

Olaratumab era stato approvato dalle autorità regolatorie sulla base dello studio di fase II: presentati in plenaria all’ASCO 2019 i risultati dello studio di fase III, purtroppo completamente negativo. Morale: gli studi di fase II richiedono conferma successiva.
